What is the silver spot price per ounce today?+

Is silver priced per ounce or troy ounce?+
Precious-metal prices normally refer to a troy ounce, approximately 31.1035 grams. An ordinary avoirdupois ounce is approximately 28.35 grams. The price on this page is per troy ounce, not per ordinary ounce.
Is silver up or down today?+
The spot card shows the latest available price. The daily brief compares the two latest completed silver futures sessions and labels their dates. That historical comparison is separate from the current spot price and can differ from an intraday chart’s change.
Why is silver going up or dropping?+
Silver responds to industrial demand, investment flows, interest-rate expectations, the US dollar and supply conditions. News can provide reported context, but a price change alone cannot prove its cause. Read each headline’s publication date alongside the chart timeframe.
What is the silver price forecast for this week?+
The weekly section uses completed silver futures candles to calculate support, a pivot and resistance, alongside a 20-observation moving average. It describes conditional scenarios rather than an analyst price target. These futures reference levels can differ from spot-market levels.
Will silver prices go up?+
No indicator guarantees a rise. Stronger industrial or investment demand can support silver, while weaker demand, higher real yields or a stronger dollar can weigh on it. Evaluate both upside and downside scenarios, the relevant timeframe and your risk exposure.
What is the gold/silver ratio?+
The gold/silver ratio is the gold price divided by the silver price, using the same currency and weight unit. A ratio of 80 means one troy ounce of gold is worth approximately 80 troy ounces of silver at those quotes. It does not, by itself, prove either metal is cheap or expensive.
How do I calculate the silver price per gram or kilogram?+
Divide the USD price per troy ounce by 31.1035 to estimate a price per gram, then multiply by 1,000 for a kilogram. For example, a hypothetical $31.1035 per troy ounce equals $1 per gram or $1,000 per kilogram before premiums and other costs.
Are spot silver and silver futures the same?+
No. Spot refers to the current market for near-term delivery, while futures are exchange-traded contracts for a specified delivery month. Financing, storage, delivery terms and contract rollover can produce different prices. This page labels its spot, chart and futures-history sources separately.
