What is the gold spot price per ounce today?+
The main quote shows the latest available indicative gold spot price in USD per troy ounce from Gold API, with its source timestamp. The TradingView chart uses OANDA’s separate XAU/USD feed. Dealer prices for physical gold can include premiums, spreads, delivery costs and taxes.
What does gold technical analysis show?+
The technical section shows 50- and 200-session moving averages and 14-session RSI calculated from completed gold futures closes. The sidebar contains TradingView’s separate continuous-futures rating. They describe price behaviour and momentum; they are not guaranteed buy or sell signals.
Is gold priced per ounce or troy ounce?+
Precious-metal prices normally refer to a troy ounce, approximately 31.1035 grams. An ordinary avoirdupois ounce is approximately 28.35 grams. The price on this page is per troy ounce, not per ordinary ounce.
Is gold up or down today?+
The spot card shows the latest available price. The daily brief compares the two latest completed gold futures sessions and labels their dates. That historical comparison is separate from the current spot price and can differ from an intraday chart’s change.
Why is gold going up or dropping?+
Gold responds to investment flows, real yields, interest-rate expectations, the US dollar, central-bank demand and geopolitical uncertainty. News can provide reported context, but a price change alone cannot prove its cause. Read each headline’s publication date alongside the chart timeframe.
What is the gold price forecast for this week?+
The weekly section uses completed gold futures candles to calculate support, a pivot and resistance, alongside a 20-observation moving average. It describes conditional scenarios rather than an analyst price target. These futures reference levels can differ from spot-market levels.
Will gold prices go up?+
No indicator guarantees a rise. Stronger investment or central-bank demand can support gold, while weaker demand, higher real yields or a stronger dollar can weigh on it. Evaluate both upside and downside scenarios, the relevant timeframe and your risk exposure.
What is the gold/silver ratio?+
The gold/silver ratio is the gold price divided by the silver price, using the same currency and weight unit. A ratio of 80 means one troy ounce of gold is worth approximately 80 troy ounces of silver at those quotes. It does not, by itself, prove either metal is cheap or expensive.
How do I calculate the gold price per gram or kilogram?+
Divide the USD price per troy ounce by 31.1035 to estimate a price per gram, then multiply by 1,000 for a kilogram. For example, a hypothetical $31.1035 per troy ounce equals $1 per gram or $1,000 per kilogram before premiums and other costs.
Are spot gold and gold futures the same?+
No. Spot refers to the current market for near-term delivery, while futures are exchange-traded contracts for a specified delivery month. Financing, storage, delivery terms and contract rollover can produce different prices. This page labels its spot, chart and futures-history sources separately.
