What is the oil price in USD today?+
The quote cards show available WTI and Brent futures prices in US dollars per barrel, with their source times. They are delayed futures quotes, not executable spot prices or refinery purchase offers. The chart uses a separate indicative CFD benchmark feed.
What is the difference between WTI and Brent crude oil?+
WTI, or West Texas Intermediate, is a major US oil benchmark associated with delivery at Cushing, Oklahoma. Brent is a North Sea benchmark widely used for international crude pricing. Quality, delivery location, transport and contract terms can affect their price difference.
Why are crude oil prices rising or falling?+
Oil responds to supply, demand, inventories, production policy, geopolitics, transport disruptions and currency movements. The news section links to reported context. A price change by itself does not establish which factor caused it.
Are the oil prices on this page live?+
The TradingView charts update according to their provider’s market-data permissions and may be delayed. The quote cards check a delayed Yahoo Finance futures feed approximately every minute while the page is visible. Each source shows its own timestamp.
What is the oil price forecast for this week?+
The weekly outlook uses completed daily futures candles, a moving average and prior-week pivot levels to describe conditional scenarios. These reference levels do not guarantee future prices, and contract rollovers can affect their values.
When is the EIA oil inventory report released?+
The EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report normally begins releasing at 10:30 am US Eastern time on Wednesdays. Holiday weeks and other exceptions can change that schedule. Use the official EIA schedule linked above for the actual release date.
Is the API inventory report the same as the EIA report?+
No. The American Petroleum Institute publishes industry survey estimates, while the US Energy Information Administration publishes government petroleum statistics. Their coverage, methods and release schedules differ. API here means American Petroleum Institute.
How much oil is in one barrel?+
One petroleum barrel equals 42 US gallons, approximately 159 litres. The prices shown here are per barrel; they are not the price per gallon of petrol, diesel or other refined products.
Can WTI crude oil prices be negative?+
Yes. A futures contract can trade below zero under exceptional market and delivery conditions. That does not mean every oil benchmark or physical transaction has a negative price.
